Paper Type
My aim was to create a paper typeface that could be folded from strips/squares of paper. I came up with this as a side project when working on my 3D paper type models. I gave myself some constraints such as the angles I was allowed to fold to keep some coherency across the letterforms.

This is definitely not a finished piece, I’m still not satisfied with some of the letters. I’ll be going back to this every so often to see what I could do with it. I’m thinking of creating some sort of publication to include physical paper folded type but it is still early days yet and this might not happen.

Great people do things before they’re ready. They do things before they know they can do it. And by doing it, they’re proven right. Because, I think there’s something inside of you—and inside of all of us—when we see something and we think, “I think I can do it, I think I can do it. But I’m afraid to.” Bridging that gap, doing what you’re afraid of, getting out of your comfort zone, taking risks like that—THAT is what life is. And I think you might be really good. You might find out something about yourself that’s special. And if you’re not good, who cares? You tried something. Now you know something about yourself. Now you know. A mystery is solved. So, I think you should just give it a try. Just inch yourself out of that back line. Step into life. Courage. Risks. Yes. Go. Now.

Being an artist isn’t a genetic disposition or a specific talent. It’s an attitude we can all adopt. It’s a hunger to seize new ground, make connections, and work without a map. If you do those things, you’re an artist.
